The Franklin Johnston Group’s project portfolio keeps getting larger.
The Virginia Beach-based multifamily development and property management firm, founded in 2013, continues to satisfy consumer demand for more housing in the city. It’s had three parcels rezoned for future projects over the past eight months.
In the summer of 2022, the developer plans to break ground for a 220-unit apartment community on more than 9 acres at 925 S. Military Highway in Virginia Beach, which is close to the Chesapeake line.
The new community will have a total of five buildings, with a mix of three- and four-story buildings featuring one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments. There will also be a clubhouse and swimming pool. Branch Civil, a general contractor based in Roanoke, currently occupies the site.
Franklin Johnston Group is committed to building affordable housing especially in a part of the city that has been overlooked, Chief Operating Officer Taylor Franklin said in a news release.
“Our two latest affordable communities leased up in record time; that experience proved to us that affordable housing needs to be a priority in Virginia Beach,” Franklin said.
