The Franklin Johnston Group, a Virginia Beach-based multifamily development and property management firm, has hired James W. Noel III as its new general counsel.
Noel joins the firm from the Port of Virginia, where he also served as general counsel. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia and a law degree from The College of William and Mary’s Marshall- Wythe School of Law.
“As we continue to grow and redefine the future of apartment living, James brings an important wealth of experience in procurement, contracts, risk management and real estate,” Franklin Johnston Group President and CEO Taylor Franklin said in a statement.
Noel began his legal career with the Office of the Attorney General of Virginia before joining the Port of Virginia. A Hampton Roads native, he serves on the executive committee of the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce, the board of directors of Junior Achievement of Greater Hampton Roads and the board of directors of the Virginia Gentlemen Foundation.
The Franklin Johnston Group owns and manages 12,000 units and more than 70 properties throughout the Eastern U.S.
