Virginia Beach, VA – January 11, 2023 – The Franklin Johnston Group, a leading Virginia Beach multifamily development, and property management firm, is pleased to announce the promotion of W. Taylor Franklin to Chief Executive Officer. This announcement comes as the company approaches its 10th anniversary.
Previously serving as the firm’s Chief Operating Officer for the past decade, Taylor Franklin exhibits leadership to its core and brings valuable experience to the role of CEO.
Franklin has served as a founding member since the company’s inception in 2013, bringing a heightened focus and passion for people to the multifamily and development industry. As COO, he formed new business partnerships and spearheaded new development opportunities. Taylor has been a driving force in scaling the company from 3,500 units to just under 25,000 units across 7 states.
Franklin attributes much of his success to the strength of his partners and the company’s 600+ employees, noting that the company is ahead of where it was predicted to be 10 years ago. Still, though, Taylor Franklin’s leadership and vision have remained a constant in the ever-growing company. His drive for excellence has allowed the company to create a distinctive management style and an awarded company culture.
The Franklin Johnston Group is not the only one impacted by Taylor’s leadership and ambition, which stretches across Hampton Roads. In 2022, Taylor was recognized as a leader in real estate on the Power 500 list. Franklin also serves as the assistant secretary of the Virginia Beach Development Authority, chairman and president of the Chesapeake Bay Wine Classic Foundation, vice chair at Norfolk Collegiate’s board of trustees, and as a trustee at Virginia Wesleyan University, his alma mater.
Taylor’s new role as CEO will allow him to focus on strengthening the company’s vision to manage and develop with uncompromised standards, foster company culture, and build upon its portfolio across the east coast.
